A comprehensive list of major systems employed by the Paternian Army. Note that all aircraft are operated under the Paternian Air Force Army Tactical Command. List will be completed later and updated.
TANKS
Defined as any tracked armored fighting vehicle with a large-caliber gun and frontal armor proof to 30mm APDS at all ranges.
M3 Avenger
The first main battle tank of the Paternian Army and Marine Corps, it was designed to emphasize mobility and firepower over armor protection. While no longer in service as a proper tank, it continues in service in many variants that will be discussed below.
Variants in service
M3A1(90) Avenger: training purposes only. Refitted with 90mm M3 railguns due to ballistic similarity with 120mm M5.
M4 Scorpion
An airmobile light tank employed by the Paternian Army paratroopers, the vehicle's initial performance was mixed; while it provided excellent fire support, its thin armor proved vulnerable to proper main battle tanks and infantry-operated anti-armor weapons. In addition, its 30mm autocannon performed poorly against bunkers and tanks. The machine received extensive upgrades, some which remain in service.
Variants in service
M4A1 Scorpion: M4 Scorpion with turret replaced by casemate and 90mm railgun fitted.
M4A2 Scorpion: M4 Scorpion fitted with new turret, fitting a 76mm M6 coilgun.
M4A2(90) Scorpion: M4A2 Scorpion fitted with the 90mm M3 railgun in place of the 76mm M6. Done by field units only.
M5 Victoria
A heavily-armed, well-armed 70-ton behemoth, it was designed as an assault tank. Featuring heavy armor capable of withstanding all but the largest guns, some of the feats this tank did are nothing short of legendary, such as the story of M5A5 Victoria "Firefly". With the introduction of the almost equally effective but lighter and cheaper M6 Ardent, the M5 has since been moved to assault tank or elite units which could benefit from the marginal advantage.
Variants in service
M5A4 Victoria: M5A3 Victoria with new gun elevation system and 120mm M5A2
M5A5 Victoria: M5A4 Victoria with new electronic weapons systems and barrel cooling shroud on 120mm M5A4 main gun.
M6 Ardent
The greatest balance between firepower, armor, mobility, and economy, the M6 forms the bulk of Paternain armored formations. It forms the basis for other machines, discussed elsewhere.
Variants in service
M6A3 Ardent: M6A2 hull with new transmission fitted with M6A1 turret. Armed with 120mm M5A1 coilgun.
M6A4 Ardent: New turret fitted to M6A3 hull, featuring improved armor protection.
M6A5 Ardent: Modified M6A4 designed to fit the 155mm M8 coilgun.
M8 General Burns
Named after the late General Burns, the creator of the Paternain Army's tank force and pioneer of tank tactics, the tank is perhaps one of the most powerful weapon platforms in the world due to its lethal combination of stealth and firepower.
Armored Personnel Carriers/Infantry Fighting Vehicles
Defined as an armored vehicle designed to provide support infantry operations.
M17 Stallion
A family of 8x8 vehicles, they are the backbone of the wheeled armored vehicle fleet.
Variants in service
M17A4 Stallion: Basic M17A1 Stallion with revised transmission and improved frontal armor profile. Able to carry 18 infantry inside.
M17A5 Stallion: Basic M17A4 Stallion fitted with modified M8 General Burns turret armed with a 30mm M13 automatic cannon.
M3 Avenger
Originally a tank, its hull was transformed into a variety of vehicles.
Variants in service
M3 Guardian: APC based off the M3 Avenger, able to carry 24 infantry inside.
M3 Prime Mover
Artillery tractor based off of the M4 Scorpion. Originally designed to tow guns and transport the gun crews, it was found to be a highly mobile machine that could be employed as a light armored personnel carrier in terrain that men in snowshoes or skis would sink.
Self-Propelled Gun/Tank Destroyer/Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Gun
Basically anything designed to carry an artillery from one place to another which does not qualify as a tank.
M3 Avenger
Originally a tank, its hull proved adaptable to many roles.
Variants in service
M2A1 Ballista: 155mm Self-Propelled Howitzer based on modified M3 Avenger chassis.
M3A2 Skysweeper II: Self-propelled anti-aircraft gun
M6 Ardent
While in very much active service, it has been adapted into self-propelled weapons.
Variants in service
M3 Skysweeper II: Mobile air defense system.
M3 Terminator: Infantry support variant of M3 Skysweeper II. Removes AA radar and air-air missiles for rocket pods and Land Inferno missiles.
M17 Stallion
These machines were also adapted into tank destroyer and mortar carrier versions.
Variants in service
M17A5 Stallion Tank Destroyer: M17A4 Stallion fitted with turret of M8 General Burns Light Tank.
M17A4 Stallion MC: M17A1 MC Stallion upgraded to the M17A4 hull standard. Mortar carrier.
M17A6 Stallion SPAAG: M17A4 Stallion fitted with Skysweeper III Turret from
M1 1/2 Ton General Purpose Truck
The principal light truck of the Paternian Army and affectionately known as the Jeep, it has since been adapted into tank destroyers for use by airborne forces.
Variants in service
M9 Stinger Tank Destroyer: M1 Jeep fitted with 90mm M3 facing rearward.
M10 Stinger II Tank Destroyer: M1 Jeep fitted with 120mm M5A6 facing forward.
M3 1 1/2 Ton General Purpose Truck/High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle
A new general purpose machine designed to fill the roles of scout car and serve as an intermediate between the 1/2 ton Jeep and 2 1/2 ton truck. It is affectionately known as the Humvee.
Variants in service
M11 Sniper Tank Destroyer: a Humvee fitted with a Land Inferno Turret. Contains 8 shots.
M3A1 Skysweeper III SPAAG: a Humvee fitted with a Skysweeper III turret
@Pilotmario Maybe I could make Those...
@Pilotmario xD
Lol @Pilotmario
@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation I knew people would think that.
But I suppose Electronic Dance Music grenades would be effective. You throw these, and all of a sudden, the soldiers stop shooting at you and start dancing. In which you can walk past them since they are busy dancing.
@Supermini555 I THOUGHT the same XD Electronic Dance Music Grenades lol
Okay @Pilotmario
@PINK Oh. We'll refit them so they can. Probably a manufacturer defect.
@Supermini555 Enhanced Dark Matter.
I know.
It cannot float @Pilotmario
Electronic Dance Music Grenades? What?!
@PINK Oh.
It goes on the beach and THEN offloads the troops.
@Pilotmario yeah we do the same. it honestly makes things a lot easier.
I haven't added the trucks, small arms, crew served weapons, melee weapons, and tank destroyers to the list.
Most of our variety is simply variants of existing machines since it would be easier to keep machines supplied if they have a high degree of commonality. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario We have Plasma and Ion and Regular caliber bullets.
We have enhanced dark matter munitions.
If you can have plasma rifles, we can have EDM grenades. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario I can count these on my fingers. that's how less they are.
It's not a complete list. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Weak.
This@Pilotmario
No, I mean, it is the version where it can open from the rear . . . and was meant to be amphibious. @Pilotmario
We decided that it would be preferable to have the troops be able to disembark from the rear where they won't be shot at than retain the amphibious capability and have them get shot at as soon as the ramp goes down. @PINK
Um, you know the Guardian cannot preform amphibious manuvers. @Pilotmario
@LuKorp Yes.
