I'm not getting the steam achievement when I complete the challenge it says I have to beat to unlock it. I emailed the support team but I wanted to see if the community had anything to say.

It sounds like the issue was opening the developer console, which disables achievements for the current game session.
I did not receive achievements for:
Gun training
Short Takeoff
Carrier Landing
Going The Distance
and Short Landing
