Hi guys!
Really loved addet fuselage inlets in b1.5, that allowed to create wonderful looking engines)
However, i want to make some suggestions:
1) We really want rotators and pistons be able to support delay. More important - different delays in seconds for different rotation direction. Thats necessary for some systems, especially for hand built landing gear. Moreover, we need to be able to modyfy range separatley for both directions - for example 45* clockwise and 90 counter.
2) we need tranparency)) i mean transparent parts. I suggest you do not make a separate block, but add a paint that makes a part partially transparent, with dark/light slider affecting the transparancy
3) we need smoke. first of all - smoke from engines.
4) and finally - you will have to remade the wings sooner or later. What i suggest is not so easy to realise, but quite important. Check my planes - you'll see i make quite accurate and functional slotted flaps. they do work, but as far as i understand - the game simply view em as separate small wing at high angle of attack, but omits airflow physics, thats why there is no way to make funktional slats or droops. Futhermore, wings do not have profile yet. What i suggest - as Unity supports air and fluid flow physics - as soon as you give a wing real profile - it should be possible to calculate real aerodinamics like in X-plane ( http://developer.x-plane.com/?article=creating-a-basic-aircraft-in-plane-maker ). You can make wings similar to fuselage sections, but transverse, and instead of simple dimensions of front and rear crossections - make it possible to define their profile by moving hardpoints on a crossection blueprint - both defining the profile and making cut outs in the profile to place flaps and so on. That will give a marvelous ability to play with wing aerodynamics. And flaps and slots made from smaller wings will work properly as a single aerodinamical system with a wing. I understand that it wont work properly on mobile platforms, but at least on pc...
5) it may be real cool to add ability to designate rotators and pistons (and may be lannding gears) personal buttons, not only predefined axis
6) it may be good to create trigger system. Like add new input axis - trigger 1, trigger 2, etc. And make a new attribute to rotators, pistons, and landing gear. for example - when rotated complete clockwise - activate trigger 1, complete counter - trigegr 2 (and any equipment with input="trigger1" or "trigger2" rotates as if you push a button. Thats another even better way for creating landing gear doors and so on
7) in b1.5 when you activete autopilot - it surely locks vtol axis, thats not very convenient. You'd better lock only roll, yaw and pitch. Or even allow input them in autopilot, but make an autopilot level the plane as soon as there is no input.
8) you should make a some kind of autopilot control - so he not just only fly straight but allows inputing the desired direction and altitude
9) but very important. Please, change the incriment when changing fuselage dimensions - at least to 0.1, better 0.05. current 0.25 is too much for making serious models
10) may be most important. I downloaded a mod that makes it possible to alter parts coordinates ingame. You should definitely include it in stock build. And you should add the ability to edit xml data on parts ingame - like you click on a part and opens a window with its code, allowing to edit it and save.
11) you just added activation groups to wing surfaces and xml parameter "activationGroupLocksInput". well, i'm positively sure that rotators and pistons need this parameter even more...
and about the glitches in b1.5:
So far two - 1) the game does not download the planes from the site
2) autopilot stopped working. It makes the plane roll sideways more and more rapidly until it flips over. Tested both with my complex planes and the simplest vanilla planes
Thanks in advance and good luck with the game. It has a great potential i think.
what the hack its gonna have with rickrolling?
@vonhubert That rickroll mod post.
@Mudkip WhAT? )))
DID YOU JUST RICKROLL YOURSELF!
