For over 150 years, the Pummeler, and variants thereof, formed the core of the Paternian Air Force attack squadrons. It was the aircraft of choice due to its durability, firepower, performance, and sheer ruggedness. For many generations of Paternian soldiers and marines, it's familiar roar was the call of a guardian angel, their salvation.
But to its foes, it was nothing but a demon's growl. Time and time again, the enemy attacks. Time and time again, the Pummeler blunts the spearheads, through bombs, napalm, rockets and its own fearsome guns.
It was the striking arm of the Paternian Air Force. From the mosquito-infested jungles of India, the frostbitten glaciers of Antarctica, and the vast sandy seas of Arabia, the Pummeler proved its worth. Awwami and Persian attacks were regularly driven back by Paternian Army or Marine Corps units supported by Pummelers.
While the type proved its worth in battle, the aircraft was not without faults. The T2000 radial engines were quite sensitive to fuel quality, a byproduct of its fighter origins. Such a high-performance engine requires regular maintenance, and was the top cause of repairs for aircraft in the unit. In addition, the type used taildragger landing gear.
While certainly helpful in rough field operations, it was more challenging than other types to take off and land. This difficulty is compounded by the fact the Pummeler is one of the only two aircraft that employ this type of landing gear, the other being the C-1 Provider. Ground loops were a regular occurrence, especially with newer pilots.
The Paternian Air Force realized this was an issue, and sought an aircraft which can replace it. Due to their very demanding requirements, they were hard-pressed to find any suitable replacements among Paternian firms.
It sought the license production of two types, the AT-12 Anvil and the Raider-class attack aircraft.
The AT-12 Anvil, an aircraft which proven its abilities in battle beforehand, was adopted immediately with some modifications as the A-6 Anvil. While pilots and ground crew were initially skeptical of the Anvil, they soon began to appreciate the many benefits of the type, notably the ease of maintenance and agility.
However, the A-6 Anvil could only merely do what the Pummeler could, and the Raider-class was adopted with modifications as the A-7 Raider. The Raider was a powerful type, armed with even more munitions than the Pummeler.
This type proved even more fearsome, and compared to the Pummeler, was faster, more maneuverable, and more durable while possessing greater weapons load.
Both the A-6 and A-7 proved themselves in battle, quickly outperforming the old A-1 Pummeler. Nonetheless, due to the strain of war, the A-1 continued to be employed alongside the newer types.
With the conclusion of hostilities between Awwam and Paternia, there was the consequential downsizing of the Armed Forces. And it was decided to finally retire the Pummeler from active duty.
While the Pummeler gave good service, its time is coming to a close. No other aircraft has been as enduring as the Pummeler.
You first. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario No we Destroyed them. stop giving alternate deaths.
Carlos deleted himself, and Amy was destroyed by Linda. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario We Actually Burned Carlos and Amy. They couldn't really do much to resist.
@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation We only had three: Carlos Michaels, Amy Winters, and Linda Weiss.
Linda Weiss is a metaphysical being. She was immensely interested in the science behind ghosts, and learned that ghosts are in fact metaphysical beings, and that people can involuntarily take such forms under extreme emotions. She died before she could figure a way to artificially, and voluntarily, become a metaphysical being.
With quantum supercomputers, she was able to figure this out, and managed to make herself a metaphysical being. Like a ghost, she can interact with objects, pass through them, be invisible, and be visible. She can move across dimensions far more quickly than before, and can control electronic devices
Carlos Michaels has chosen to deactivate himself because he wanted to live life as it is, not remain alive forever as a computer, and Amy Winters turned into GLaDOS and killed lots of people in Pakistan before Linda Weiss destroyed her via nuclear meltdown.
A singe, simple amoebocyte cannot break down 918 unique species of bacteria, parasites, and fungi.
She remembers Fatima Rajhi. Good woman, she said. Very bright. They were good friends after they met each other in a conference in Geneva.
@Pilotmario Quantum Supercomputers Detected a Fault in these. That is that Simple Amoebocyte's can Break the Pathogens down. And We Know that Linda is the only AI you currently have. We Destroyed the other ones in our North American Invasion
I'll ask Linda Weiss about it. She's very socially awkward, given her diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome, and can be very temperamental at times, liable to literal tantrums, but whatever she doesn't know about biology, physics, mechanical things, and computers, is probably not relevant. She can talk on for hours about this.
Yeah, she's sequenced 918 new, unique, deadly, pathogens, all with different effects. Of this, we only employed 20, the zombie pathogens.
They evolved to a hundred. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario No.
So, zombies that can be controlled? @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@SimpleTechAndResearch 2047 in Saudi Arabia. Awwam Scientists discover a Biological control method for a certain bacteria. the Vaccine phases out the pathogens. we then also realize that HIV has the same RNA. at 12:47 Fatima Rajhi Open's up a file from May 2018. the time Awwam established full control of Saudia. in the file there's a note, she opens the note and understands what it reads. in Hebrew. it said about a New Strain the United States was creating in secret. She takes these home and away from the public. time comes at a protest when Riot police storm through the Homes and streets in martial law. this happens in February 2048. She's forced to leave but is granted stay since she's one of the High Officials. An Officer Performs a security check on her and on her was the envelope. she already knew what the entire strain was about and its lethality. the Officer trips off a notice about her suspiciousness. She's Interrogated and tells interrogators what the strain is. but she doesn't say its powers. Her information is transferred for checkup at a lab in China. 2052, January. the Scientists researching this strain discover and understand its viability and uses in chemical warfare. the Scientist is given a lease/vacation. soon thereafter the mix is stored underground On Awwam territory. we have some you'll be shocked to know about. yet we wont reveal it.
@Pilotmario True.
Ehh...
Cancer is more painful. @SimpleTechAndResearch
@Pilotmario We may even release the Black Death Upon them if they dare to attack us.
@Pilotmario NU! ME DO
Right.
No cure, no vaccine. @SimpleTechAndResearch
@Pilotmario There is no cure for HIV Right?
XML files. @CertaNatusAerospaceSystems
@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation If you dare to attack us we would deploy weapons that would destroy you
the least powerful one? HIV
The most powerful one?
youll find out soon
@SimpleTechAndResearch Only because you're Allied to GoldenEagle are you still in Roleplay and let that sink in your head.
@Pilotmario Phew.
@SimpleTechAndResearch It will continue to see service in Paternian Reserve Air Force units. We will continue to manufacture the type for those interested in purchase.
The status of Pummelers in foreign service is not affected by our decision.
I might even make an Awwami version, captured by Awwami forces or assembled from parts from wrecks.
Through this, they got 22 machines; 4 A-1B, 8 A-1D, 2 A-1E, 7 A-1F, and 1 A-1G.
@Mudkip In the Unliklely case the GAE would invade us we would be dead already.
@SimpleTechAndResearch NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
@Mudkip Yes.
Goodbye great pummeler :(
will they still be in limited service?
