Basically, your average American congressman; big profile, didn't work, overweight, and unreliable.

While it did see some good service in combat, notably the Battle of Raseiniai, it was rightfully considered a failure, and was replaced by the turretless SU-152 and ISU-152. It's only popular in World of Tanks because the implementation of the KV-2 in World of Tanks omitted most of the vehicle's flaws.

@LuKorp You realize that the KV-2 was a really terrible tank IRL. There's a reason why the Soviets never bothered making more than 334 of them.

The KV-2 was high-sided, mechanically unreliable, overweight, top-heavy, and had a turret that could only turn on level ground. Which was why the Soviets stopped building these failures after 1941 and made 700 SU-152s and 4,650 ISU-152s, which don't have a turret.

Indeed, the only reason why it is became more popular recently was due to its effectiveness in World of Tanks and War Thunder, whose implementation of all tanks omitted any reliability issues to make it fun. Which meant omitting most of the things that made it terrible.
