The only Northern city that didn't join the communists was New Porto. The rebels planned to destroy it. They used 2 stolen F-17s and bombed New Porto. AA guns fired ,but the missles were literally potato guns and missed every shot. They eventually got two rebel squads into New Porto and began occupying the city. On July 21st 2089, New Porto fell against overwhelming odds.
@Pilotmario pretty sure you googled that cuz it took you a minute to respond :/ disappointed
@Pilotmario hueheueheueu well it was Madina's old name.
The sacred city of Medina. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario and I think you know where it got its name?
I see. We also tested the Yathrib. Durable, but they pylons are of an outdated type and broke at high speeds (long pylons can attach to fuselage blocks), pitch control was lacking, roll control was excessive, and fuel consumption was excessive in-game. However, it's twin-engine design allowed it to absorb quite some damage, so if one engine was to be destroyed, the other can bring the jet back to base. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario indeed the Pummeller is Magnificent in its abilities and performance. So much so that it's a true workhorse
@Pilotmario Actually alot of Low/Slow flying planes can be utilised for CAS and deal absolutely devastating damage while avoiding alot of hits. An example is the Yathrib. I never stated it a CAS but it's a total Multirole aircraft. It's an attacker and a fighter. In swarms the enemy would call it a blaze. Bullets flying everywhere and hot jet streams 50 Meters above your head. It's not easy to fight when your allies get constantly Decimated (hint hint Paternian Republic)
I see. However, what makes a good fighter doesn't necessarily make a good CAS aircraft.
The Pummeler's low speed, high maneuverability, and long endurance allows it to loiter over the battlefield for hours, where fighter jets are much faster and have less endurance. In addition, the Pummeler is well-armored and built strongly, allowing it to absorb a considerable amount of damage. It's T2000 radial engine is incredibly damage resistant, as knocked-out cylinders will simply lower its effective power, but not knock it out, and the cast steel engine makes for a decent bullet shield.
A fighter jet has none of that. It's high speed makes it I'll-suited for acquiring targets on the ground, cannot loiter over the battlefield for long periods of time, and are easily damaged by ground fire due to their lack of any armor.
The only dedicated CAS types I know you operate are helicopters and the Bulwark, the latter acquired after the war in response to the effectiveness of the Pummeler. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario well any of my aircraft for example. Multirole also meaning that they can also be used for CAS
Link? @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario We Actually have alot of CAS planes btw
@Pilotmario or basically
I will post a PCM Pummeler, as it is known that they use the Pummeler.
It is after all, the most popular warplane in the world. Katipunia, Sals, and Japan operate the Pummeler in some capacity. Awwami forces were known to employ captured Pummelers, due to their lack of close support aircraft.
In addition, the success of the aircraft (regardless of what MemeKing says about it) inspired the Lanzarrians to produce the CAS-37 Bulwark series.
Although we have retired the type from active service, it continues use in the Paternian Reserve Air Force.
