This letter was delivered by Sgt. Victor Kingsley of the 88th Infantry Regiment, who was seriously wounded by an Awwami sniper in the Battle of Edmonton. He asked the Sergeant to deliver this message in the event of his death. He would survive his wound, albeit with the loss of his left arm. With a prosthetic arm, he would continue the campaign with his unit to unite with the Paternian Army in Winnipeg.
Dear Sister Charlotte,
I believe this war, unlike the last, will end much sooner. Yesterday, the we liberated Vancouver from the Awwami occupiers. It is no secret that with Prince Rupert and Vancouver liberated, it will only be a matter of time before Awwam's tyranny over Canada will cease to be.
I know that Mother Justine hardly approves war in any sense, and so do you. But I write so you can at least know why I decided to join the fight.
This war, like the last, is a just war. We know that Awwam does not seek peace at all, and will make the world it's slave. The bloodshed in the Norte Dame de Reims will repeat if we do not take up arms to defend those who cannot. You, like me, have seen this with our own eyes. As brothers and sisters of blood and the covenant of God, we must do all we can to help those who cannot help themselves, who suffer needlessly.
This is a war, instigated arbitrarily by Awwam against Paternia, which is in the defense of human liberty, where an Awwami bullet had killed the dove of peace. This is a war which we must fight.
But I do not intend to kill unless I have to. My job is to save lives when others are taking them. From the landings in Victoria, to the foxholes of the Horne Lake Perimeter, on the rocks of Wreck Beach, to General Rasheed's surrender in Chilliwack, I have done my duty to God to save his own creation, even as they seek to destroy each other. Perhaps, it is an innate desire in me to shine a light in the hell that is war.
Know that for what Awwam did to the people who took shelter in Norte Dame de Reims, I forgive them, as Jesus has taught us. He has taught us to love one another, to turn the other cheek if stricken.
Know that I shall return home both a saint and a sinner. A saint would never kill, yet a sinner would never try to save the life of the man who just moments ago has just tried to kill him. I suppose we are not perfect after all.
Know that war is not all hell, sister, for I have made many brothers and sisters in arms. They even call me "Priest", probably because I say my prayers and fill for the chaplain when he's somewhere else. Even through the storm of war, there is a rainbow at the end.
I won't be able to write to you very much after this, as the campaign is to be quite rapid.
With love,
Your Brother

@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation It's how RPs work.
@Pilotmario -_-
This is why you need to write stories with believable characters. So there's a chance that your point of view becomes canon. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario ?
Of interest.
Well, they're in now. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario Just Stop, Okay? the Notre Dame Cathedral is still fine and is well
@Pilotmario the Binladen Group is Non-Existent in this Time and Day of the RP, Proving your Explanation False just to support your claims of Awwam exploding a cathedral, Which is never done.
Remember who the commander of the operation in France is: Colonel Mohd. Omar bin Laden.
I'm sure you are aware of the bin Laden family for two reasons: the "crazy conservative uncle" of the family named Osama, and the Saudi Binladin group, or the guys who build stuff for the king of Saudi Arabia.
Apparently, they wanted to build a grand mosque in Paris, but the best place for it was the Norte Dame Cathedral. He had it blown up under the guise that the ARI was present in the building (they weren't). The locals made his coverup easier by protesting the destruction, and occupied the whole place. They blew it up with hidden charges and blamed the ARI for it. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
@Pilotmario What? Cathedrals and Places of Worship are never Attacked, Bombing is Precise, Unfortunately his Nation has a Clouded One View approach, Which is made to suppress exterior outlets and open news, something that's punishable by Paternian law if attempted to be bypassed, Sadly, Soldiers do not destroy Relics or Artifacts, So to know that Falsification of Eye witnesses is allowed, Proves corruption within the Nations government. Odd for the Paternian Republic that calls themselves a haven of freedom for everyone. When they're not themselves.
@GoldenEagle
What he knows is that Awwam declared that the Paternian government conspired to incite rebellion within it, and then bombed Paternian population centers in the Azores.
Now, he knows that the Paternian Republic has sided with Awwam in the recently concluded Awwam Civil War. And while he does know that ARI rebels were armed with Paternian-made weapons and that some of the ARI members were Paternain Army veterans, he was under the accurate impression that (A) Paternia exports its weapons to many nations, and (B) the Paternians came to support the ARI on their own free will. Both statements are true.
How can a man who witnessed Awwam blow up a cathedral and then cover it up by saying that it was occupied by rebels (he made an agreement with the local ARI leaders that they would not use the cathedral for military purposes of any kind) believe that they want peace?
He has witnessed Awwam do terrible things, and has seen the caliph as power-obsessed, demanding that his vassal states subscribe to the supposed superiority to Islam and Sharia, even when they don't want it. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Well, in Red August, he was one of the clergy at the Norte Dame cathedral, when he was witnessed a confrontation between Awwami soldiers and the archbishop.
When the soldiers came in, they stated their intent to find ARI members. Not wanting any trouble, he allowed them in.
However, the Awwami soldiers began to loot many of the artifacts as well as destroy historical relics, stating them to be "idolatrous" and "sinful".
The archbishop attempted to convince them to stop the needless destruction but was instead shot by the Awwami soldiers. They were, alongside other clergymen, rounded up as "ARI informants", even though they had no connections to the ARI. They then planned to demolish the cathedral to make way for a mosque. Against his urgings, Parisians occupied the cathedral in protest. They were declared "ARI sympathizers" and the cathedral was destroyed with everyone inside. All who tried to escape were shot. @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation
Indeed he had a twisted perspective of the war, One which you planned to continue and instigate, All Awwam now wants is Peace, however that is not the case in this Medics Propaganda filled mind.
