Pretty Cut-and-Dried, can anyone, oh anyone make simple cables and winches?
(For aircraft, cranes, bridges, trucks, and everything else!)
Gratzi, Danke, Xie xie, and Thank you very much in advance!

I wonder how they do the tow winch in FSX... (My phone ran out of charge when I git to the X lol! Lucky unfinished comments save!)

@Cadin I assume your username is Cadin?
@JMicah4 Yepper, I do.
@Cadin you got steam?
@JMicah4 Right on, I'm cool with weird! I've even thought of using small extending pistons with ball joints to act as an extending chain, functioning somewhat/approximately as a cable!
The part is in the works, it's very wierd.
@JMicah4 That would be excellent, thankee for anything you can whip up!
@WNP78 Right on, I will check it out
by using ball joints in unity I may be able to make a chain part!
@Cadin @ian8811946 I believe toscio56 makes ropes by attaching lots of wings together..... not quite sure how.
@Cadin lol not too far off for me either. Did some visual basic in high school but its long forgotten for the most part.
@ian8811946 Yeah, I just checked it out. The math seems straitforward, but C# (C Sharp), I only know enough to cut myself... Ha!
@Cadin Naw, old game...early 2000s
@ian8811946 I'm not familiar with it, but if it was Unity as well...
@Cadin Yeah like how 4x4 evo 2 used to work. Exactly.
@ian8811946 It's too bad there is no way to set an anchor in the terrain, and have it just be a floating point but be like a terrain detacher with a line of force between the "anchor" and the "winch" (Really just vehicle anchor) and just be a draw line between to "fake" the cable. In this case, the vector line would approximate a cable without having to process all of the chain links.
@Cadin Perhaps...I was hoping to see something like that made when I saw the gear mod released.
@ian8811946 Yeah, I guess this would just be chain correct? Could we then make something like a bicycle chain but with ball joints?
@JMicah4 Right on, that would be wonderous! No rush, keep me posted!
In theory it could be done...I think there's at least one helicopter that has some simple rope on it already. Have not looked closely but I would assume it is a series of joints to make a chain.
However I don't see a point in making one at the moment since there would be no way to manipulate the end of the winch and attach it to a tree..or whatever. It would take a lot of coding to implement anything worth while imo. Beyond my skillet. Personally I would live to see a fully working winch system implemented tho.
Here's a vid of one in unity. pretty sure this could be recreated in SP fairly easily.

ps. I'm talking more about a vehicle mounted winch here. There could indeed be some use to doing this for bridges and things of that nature.
@Cadin
@Cadin I might be able to do something.
Thanks in Advance for your input everyone!
What do you think? Simple Cables possible? @JMicah4 @NathanMikeska @AndrewGarrison
Also, what say you fellows? Simple Cables possible? @FullFruntall @Toscio56 @ian8811946
