The Ascension and its backstory.

13.6k PyrusEnderhunter  8.0 years ago

The Ascension is a technologically advanced group of fleeing refugees in Ephwurd's fictional universe. But how did the Ascension come to be? This is the backstory of the group.

Starting 9 centuries before Christ, an alien race known as the alcurvians land on Earth. All native humans from the Incas to the Greeks see them land. The Alcurvians are a barbaric and fascist race of advanced extraterrestrials that wish to turn humanity into a slave species. However, another race known as the Prometheans intervene before such can take place. As a result, a war between the two races begins. On one side is the prometheans who want to leave humanity to her own destiny, and on the other is the Alcurvians who want to enslave her. All the while ancient Philosophers, especially the Greeks, depict the conflict as a clash between the so called "divine and the damned" . Eventually, the prometheans recruit human volounteers into their army as the Interstellar Movement. The war is won and the Alcurvians flee Earth. The Prometheans and Interstellar Movement following in close pursuit. The Prometheans and Interstellar Movement meet on Proximus Centauri B to discuss a unity between the two species and form the I.S.F.O.S (Inter Stellar Federation of Sentians) as an orginization to secretely protect Earth. Many species are recruited into the orginization, in a fight against the still looming Alcurvians threat. The humans and Prometheans succeed in saving many other species. However, the war is being lost as overwhelming Alcurvian forces overrun many planets and systems. In a desperate final strike, the human volounteers and Prometheans blow up almost all of the enemy navy through Suicide Strikes in which human and Promethean ships crash into enemy vessels. The plan is a success but leaves the Prometheans, along with their human allies vulnerable to Interstellar strikes (in which unmanned vessels filled with antimatter bombs travel through worm holes in attempts to hit target worlds. Every Promethean and human stronghold is destroyed. The survivors flee to their ships and retreat to an uncharted part of space for millennia.

But if the Alcurvians won the war, why didn't they go back for Earth? They never returned because almost all of their entire navy was completely destroyed. It would take millennia to build it. Once they do, the survivors form a new orginization called the Ascension. To warn Earth, and the Continuum about the Alcurvian menace now rising again.

@PyrusEnderhunter the Continuum has several fighter and bomber models for versatility, much like today's militaries

@PyrusEnderhunter the human survivors make contact with the separatist group of mine, as for the prometheans, they return to the ISFOS

@PyrusEnderhunter the Continuum's star mining is absurdly expensive though, and only the Continuum Navy uses it to build their ships

@Ephwurd E-57 is the main fighter. B-300 is the main bomber.

@PyrusEnderhunter oh, there are survivors. Lets give it a twist: the human survivors make contact with the separatist group of mine, and that is the reason why the Ascension is so technologically advanced compared to their Continuum counterparts.

@Ephwurd before they died, they created the E-57 and B-300. The B-300 was based off the Halcyon. Pure coincidence in this universe.

@PyrusEnderhunter but you said the humans that volunteered died, and about the E-57, you based it off my Halcyon, right?

@PyrusEnderhunter well the Continuum can mine stars too, they simply siphon energy from it using wormholes and channel it to nanofactories which use this energy as raw material and energy source to print various materials.

@Ephwurd they used to. After the I.S.F.O.S saved them, we left them to their own knowing the Alcurvians would never return to their worlds.

@Ephwurd the E-57 is the standard human I.S.F.O.S fighter. Having an infinity engine, it can slaughter any other fighter it faces.

@PyrusEnderhunter so these aliens rely on the prometheans for protection?

@Ephwurd the I.S.F.O.S has highly advanced tech such as segmented planes with hovering parts, and the ability to mine stars.

@Ephwurd ok, but what's left of the I.S.F.O.S is only 500 million prometheans. The rest of the species are waiting for the humans and Prometheans to return.

@Ephwurd Prometheans teach humans about space. The volounteers never return as they have all died.

@PyrusEnderhunter I.S.F.O.S is a nice concept though, a union of aliens who protect each other from the Alcurvians. Add the Tors and Varacys as their enemies soon, their biological weapons and twisted understanding of peace and order make them a deadly opponent

@Ephwurd Interstellar Movement was formed after the Prometheans took a select few humans to educate. Mainly preachers of religion. Because they are educated about Prometheans.

Just a question, how did humans, who had no knowledge of space travel, let alone have a concept of space, form the Interstellar Movement??
