Hi comrades)
Well, the question is for those with experience of making gliders ingame. I have the same problem with all my creations (and they all are replicas). I'm able to make 1:1 scale and weight planes, with correct wing area that fly relatively realistically. they even take off and stall at right speed. Hovewer, all of them are almost unable to glide, they loose speed even at -20 pitch angle (i.e. with no thrust, they fall like a brick). I tried an experiment - doubled the wing are with all other equal, a plane started to glide (and took off almost from start), but it still glide at a sustaned speed of 100-120 mph (below the stall speed of a real airplane) instead of realistic and recommended 230-250 mph for most airliners. Any ideas how to make them glide realistically?
@Sarpanitu did this on some models for roll control. And "shrinked" main wing in scale and increased twice in size for better gliding, it helped, but the plane glides on very low speed and takes off at 70 mph)))
Could give me a link?@Sarpanitu
I would like some of these wings plz@Sarpanitu
Hey dude good to see you what's up?@Sarpanitu
I've found the part posted it and mentioned you on it
@CALVIN232 thanks a lot! Waiting eagerly)
They are modded to be stronger and I got some of of someone a mouth ago I'll try to find the part and I'll post it unlisted and mention you on it I will update it with the credit the guy who gave me it deserves @vonhubert
@CALVIN232 what do you mean? Sorry didnt get it. Which way modded?
Also try modded wings they don't move at all@vonhubert
@EternalDarkness hm... gonna try, that's not necessary make sense, but at least it s a new idea)
@CALVIN232 thats actually what i tried so far, except that i didn't add hidden wings, but changed wings scale to 0.5 and doubled all the dimensions, thus giving 4x wing area. It started gliding indeed, but only on a very low speed, about 100 mph, and it also started to fly very strange( like a butterfly)))
Add more weight, and more hidden wings to counter that weight. What pushes aircraft through the air when engines flame out is inertia, and that requires mass.
I think that's the stupid drag physics again. Adding more wings won't help. :/
It may be cheating but have you tried putting wings inside each other this will give the plane a massive amount of lift depending on the wing size
