Before I waste any more time making offroad vehicles, without getting much reward, are offroad vehicles even that popular?
If they are do I just have to make more detail or should I upload at a different time to get recognition?

Things to improve in your past offroad vehicles: Wheels closer to the vehicle, Side windows, More detail
And I don't think the time when you upload a build really dose much, maybe one ore two upvotes but that's all I think the difference is to be honest, if your think more on which day you upload I would suggest uploading on weekends, I believe that you get more upvotes/downloads on weakeneds than week days
I do like off road cars/trucks, and if your wanting more of a reward I would suggest adding more details unless your device has lots of issues with your average build part count then I don't have any suggestions then sadly
