1. Semimonocoque Construction.
Mentioned on the first post, its built upon a C-purlin frame and a plywood skin, and held together by rivets. The result would be a light yet moderately stiff fuselage.
Oh, and did I mention that the nose will be based on the CriCri?
2. Paired Madness
The final design will be a two seater craft... With two engines. The engines will be 2hp grasscutter (or any other lightweight piston engines) motors, powering a 3 bladed prop, 40in diameter. It will be fuselage mounted like the Beriev Be-103, but closer to the main wing. The tail section will be on the prop wash for bushplane-like control.
3. Tires
Kiddie bike wheels, anyone? Not the training wheels, but the tiny main wheels!
4. 666
60% aspect ratio, 6 blades at 50°, and 6 LITERS OF FUEL?! Loominarty confirmed.
5. Just like a flight simulation.
Controls will be mechanical for simplicity, specifically using bicycle brake cables for control linkages.
6. Life is Plastic, its Fantastic
Yes, the wing's skin will be made of thick plastic book cover. Did I mention that the joystick, pedal and throttle will be made of PVC pipes?
7. SPROINGGGGG
The suspension used in a Cessna 172 will be similar to Vernon's main gear suspension. Should I make a custom main gear fork? Or should I take out the one from the bike?
8. Prepare To Blow Your Face Off
Open Canopies are great for feeling the air on your hair.
Well that's all folks.
