why do my turrets flop?

11.6k MechWARRIOR57  7.6 years ago

so I'm making a giant ship but my turrets and torpedo launchers move slow (even at 100 percent) and even when they get to the place I need them to point it continues to move, then slows down to get back to that point, then they overshoot that and it continues so for long distance shots I have a high chance of missing

@MechWARRIOR57 If you make the whole build lighter it will work 100% guaranteed

and I decreased the weight of the new turret and it only weighs 1000 pounds, but it still does this @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

Yeah, the floppiness is definitely because of the huge weight on the rotator, it happens to me too so don't worry.

I suggest putting some fuselage under rotator itself to compensate for the shorter pillar on the back Turret.

it's because they're not the exact same, The pillar that is holding the turret In the back is higher, Hence more weight for the back turret = slower than the front.

@MechWARRIOR57 Ah, what Visify said, Except decrease the weight of the parts that are rotating

they have the same settings, 110 (115 degrees) of motion and 20% speed @MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation

Well, The reference video was super helpful, I Think you have to make sure they're the exact same, this means that the Rotators are the exact same in the settings as well, Same speed, same angles.

By overshoot i assume you mean one would point at the other? And overlap? Yeah something Is wrong with one of them.
