A new map!
Many have noticed that my recent posts have been... odd. Very miscellaneous, and less detailed than my normal work. That is because they are being used in a new map project that I began a week ago.

Yes, I'm going for a faint borderlands resemblance...
So, these screenshots are nice, but they are only from a small region of the map. Most of the map is, well, a desolate wasteland, with a harsh kind of beauty. However, these characteristics aren't what define the map. What defines the badlands is a massive cave system, which isn't quite done yet.
File size and lag.
I can estimate that this map will have a larger file than New Portum, but it will be less laggy. This is because all of the buildings will be spread out across a large area. This reduces lag... a lot. Compare this effect to a party. If you have 20 people partying in your bedroom, then it will be crowded. If the 20 people spread out across the house, then the party will not be so cumbersome or crowded.

@Swiftsure That was what I was going for. Futuristic but still gritty. Far from utopian.
@BogdanX Thanks! That kind of architecture will be used in about half of the valley in the pictures.
I like the colours, makes the buildings look sort of junky
