Being assaulted by the NAS fleet on 17th January, 1939, the HN has decided to launch a revenge. On 20th January, 1939, the First Fleet set to the open sea, which is composed of 2 newest Spizaetus class armoured aircraft carrier with a total of over 200 aircrafts onboard, 1 modernized Aurora class battlecruiser, 2 Ramiel class scout cruisers, 2 Alsvider class scout cruisers, 3 Tisiphone class destroyer flotilla leaders, 5 Styx class destroyer flotilla leaders and 4 Fog class destroyers, is now searching for the NAS fleet.

On the 25th January, 1939, the NAS fleet composed of 4 D class destroyers, 4 H class heavy cruisers, 2 Super B class battleships were spotted. A total of 92 torpedo bombers launched from both carriers. Without any aerial protection, the battleship NAS Toranato was soon struck by 16 torpedos on starboard side and was  sunk, while her sister ship was sunk by HNS Aurora after being hit by her 17" AP shells from 15km away and 5 torpedos from the torpedo bombers. The destroyers launched a total of 144 533mm oxygen torpedos from 8km away and the H class cruisers were soon blown into pieces due to detonation of 203mm ammunition with a lost of nearly 1,600 lifes.

The D class destroyers manage to set a smoke screen and escape. However, with the advantage of radar, the destroyers were found by the HN fleet. One of the D class destroyer, the NAS Devotion was sunk by HNS Alsvider and HNS Tisiphone after being hit by over 70 135mm shells. The remaining destroyers were sunk by dive bombers from the carriers. In the operation, a total of 15 aircrafts were lost to AA fire and 2 crash landed. The HN fleet suffered almost no damage, while annihilating the entire NAS fleet. The HN fleet returned to Snowstone after rescuing survivors from NAS fleet with CAP missions of the carriers' fighter wing resumed.
