While building the Chechen, I thought to myself: Why not link the rotor rotators to each other?
What It Is:
It's basically a freespin rotator that is LINKABLE to other freespin rotators. By linkable I mean those similar to how an engine can be connected to a wheel (the Select Engine option) It should link up to 10 other rotators. Therefore there should be a Primary Link Rotator and a Secondary Link Rotator.
How It's Used:
Place a primary rotator, and another secondary rotator somewhere else. Linking it would be like how you link a car engine to a wheel. Then you can tinker on the settings.
Suggested Ingame Mod Options:
Select Rotator
Similar to the Select Engine option for the car engines, but for these special rotators only.
Rotator Spin Ratio (Secondary Rotator only, -100 to 100 scale)
Differentiates spin on a linked pair.
Example:
Secondary rotator setting at +50, so the secondary rotator would be spinning at a 50:1 ratio in relation to the primary. In other words, one full rotation of the primary rotator would be 50 rotations of the secondary.
Placing this option on the secondary rotator would eliminate the lack of multiple gear ratios for other uses.
These would be for some uses which will be mentioned later.
Uses:
Synchropters
With synchronized rotors, the effect of having a legit intermeshing rotor in slow motion would be very satisfying.
The Sky's the Limit
From cars to boats to anything your noggin musters up.
Primarily I asked this to be a mod, so it is compatible with WNP78's LimitlessSpin mod and also the EngineOut mod. But for the mercy on iOS users, well, I hope this gets into 1.6.
interesting. The built in joints do not support this type of thing so some custom physics code would be needed...... I'm not too sure about the feasibility of this.
@WNP78 Since I mentioned most of your mods here, I'd challenge you to mod this :3
@HellFireKoder I hope I added an idea for 1.6.
