Well, I've got 100k. Who would have guessed that? I didn't even think I'd get this far. I didn't think I'd get as far as 25k.
But here I am. 100k points.
Who must I thank? Well, this lovely community for an equally lovely game. But I am obligated to mention some people in particular.
Firstly, PINK and GluonicGaming. When I created an RP long ago, they were quite active. While the latter is no longer active, the former is very much so. As a new player, seeing a pair of platinums take interest in my stuff is very encouraging.
Secondly, gun builders like Dllama and YuukaNeko. As much praise as they shower me, I see them as equals, if not better.
Finally, the whole C&C roleplay. After I ended my own RP, I joined them, on suggestion by PINK. They were very active and quite an interesting community. You run the gamut of underrated builders like Jakethedogg, talented builders who can make things which I don't have the patience for like ElGatoVolador, and those who are just beginning.
Thank you very much. If you aren't mentioned, you are no less important.
Now for the obligatory "what should I tell the new players" portion.
If you're new to this game, congratulations. You've spent $5-10 on something which is worth more than that. Make the most of it. Do what you're good at, and you will gain recognition. My builds aren't the greatest. But a good story could not only make up for a mediocre build, it can make it a legend.
Take the classic Pummeler. Nothing spectacular really about it. It's a prop-driven fighter that can carry a large quantity of ordnance.
However, I wrote up a good story behind it. Oftentimes, these stories didn't revolve around the plane itself, but the pilots who flew them. Most notable is a woman named Valerie Vickers, a decorated attack pilot whose looks can in fact kill. However, 20 years of war does have its toll on the individual, especially when their job is to fly through the metaphorical gates of Hell. I feel that my writing has no doubt helped me to get as far as I did.
Now you don't have to be Shakespeare to get 100k points. But what you do need is to find out what you're good at, and go from there. You'll get traction.
Always seek to improve not only what you are least proficient in, but also what you are most proficient in. Many of the techniques I use in my builds I did not come up myself. Rather, I saw what worked for other people and used it.
I have no intention at the time of this writing to give up on SimplePlanes. Thank you for reading as far as you have.
P.S. Thanks Dllama for the boost.
@PlanesOfOld I mean, Hypnotoad has an entire class of aircraft devoted to him.
