So my latest build requires a piston engine to be made, and ive spent the past hour doing failed combinations of dimensions and speeds and cannot get a smooth running engine, im not entirely sure what the mathematical guidelines are for engines, even though i have allready built 2 (trial and error mainly)
Make sure it looks the part! @Visify
@PlanesOfOld I'm currently working on a steam engine, I'll try to implement it on the base design. when I'm done I'll tag you
@Visify At 30% power setting it spazzed out. I diagnosed it as being a shite designand started again, thrice.
@Visify Ive uploaded the base design without any engine, Here it is If you want we can co op it. the requirements of the engine is to drive a flywheel and a gear powered wheel, just google Traction engine mechanical diagrams and it should come up with how they work, the second piston isnt needed as it realy is the inlet valve but i figure it wouldnt hurt to have two pistons. Id ideally like them to power it at the 100% speed setting as the real deal have a man sized gear to gear down the drive. the usual max speed for one is about 10mph.
@PlanesOfOld Btw does it spazz out right away when you start it or only when it reaches a certain RPM
@PlanesOfOld I can try to make a steam engine that you can use/modify. Is it a boat that it has to power? And should it run at low RPM high power or just the opposite of that?
Well the design is a twin piston horizontal steam engine. I'm having trouble with every design I've come up with, the problem is that it spazzes out instead of spinning, the build does not need the engine but it would nice for it to be powered by it. @Visify
@PlanesOfOld What problems are you encountering? I may be able to help
@PlanesOfOld Um oh NVM then
@Fjorge Its not that type of engine, Its a horizontal steam engine.
Ask @Visify he makes good ones...
