Use Fine Tuner mod. Place a shape that is to be a part of your torus, and another part where the center of the torus will be. Make sure that the torus section is connected to the cockpit. Mirror torus part into itself. Open Fine Tuner, select "Multi Select", select first the center, then torus part. Rotate by the necessary amount, mirror the torus part, repeat until you have a torus.
