Well. It's been quite a bit since I last posted, since I've been focusing on finals and stuff. But now that the school year is over, I can shift my focus back to SimplePlanes. And more specifically, my next series. These eight aircraft are all drawn to scale, and that little reference bar on the bottom left represents 15 feet:

As the illustration shows, six aircraft will be carrier-borne fighters and dive bombers, while two will be independently-launched seaplanes. These aircraft are all fictional, and most fill a time frame between 1942 and 1946. Each of the carrier-based aircraft will come equipped with folding wings and retractable arrestor hooks.

As I said before, the fighter aircraft in this Naval Series will be heavier, more rugged, and longer ranged than the fighters in my previous fighter line within my Signature Series. Two piston-powered fighters and one turbojet fighter will be included.

The main course for this series, the three dive bombers, will each come with different weapon types and flight utilities. The primary dive bomber will be armed exclusively with free-fall bombs, the larger torpedo bomber will come with a heavy torpedo, and the twin-tailed dive bomber will be equipped with two high-explosive depth charges housed in an internal storage bay.

As for the two seaplanes, their roles will be quite different, obviously. The small floatplane will be from an older era, designed to perform high-risk recon missions for the naval fleet. The much larger flying boat will be utilized as a naval heavy bomber with a maximum bomb load of twelve to thirteen thousand pounds.
