as we now have gyro, I started wondering about possibility to make unstable plane stable with it (like typhoon, mirage 2000). Is is possible? And if yes, what settings I have to use?

It sorta works. I made a plane extremely unstable once. I put the CoL in front of the CoM and set up a gyroscope. I knew that it would not work well, but I was curious. As expected, the plane auto levels whenever you turn, and it does not turn well. This is because the plane is fighting against yaw pitch and roll. This is not preventable since instability effects all three areas.
@Tully2001 actually it's a computer controlled gyro.
Constantly tweak the plane to perfection, it may take a while but is worth it
