As updates are coming one after another, SimplePlanes it becoming an air combat simulator, as well as physics one. So I was thinking, why don't we have more ordinance for naval attack aircraft and modern bombers? I suggest adding an Anti-Ship missile with a long lock-on range. Knowing that Jundroo dev team likes to base weapons for SimplePlanes on real ones, I suggest it be:
Exocet
Exocet, in my opinion, fits the Jundroo style the best. Sleek design.
Kh-35
From Russia with love.
Harpoon
The most well-known anti-ship missile in the world.
Name of the every missile is a link to its Wikipedia page.
Any one of these would have two modes, like in real life. Air-launched, with fins extended, and land/sea launched with wings folded to fit inside a missile tube.
I understand that it would be pointless to have a range of 130+ miles on SimplePlanes (shooting USS Beast from Snowstone), but that could be reduced to 25-40 miles. We currently have no way of enjoying our naval attack aircraft, missile-armed warships, and modern bombers realistically, due to having to approach the target to what is in naval warfare a point blank range. I would like dev team to consider this for one of the future updates.
@757simmer you have been issued a strike for foul language. Please follow the rules.
@757simmer just because you don't have skills needed to make your plane look and fly like a real one, doesn't mean nobody does. Just take a look here, MisterT making a more realistic sim than War Thunder.
@757simmer
SP has never been intended to be a "simulator" as much as a build-your-own plane arcade game, and Jundroo has never made any claims of it being a hyper-realistic flight sim.
If you want a "sim" experience go play X-Plane or Microsoft Flight Sim.

@MasterLobster then someone must make HMS Sheffield, so you can simulate that action on Multiplayer :)
I want an Exocet, I'm gonna make a Dassault-Breguet Super Étendard from the Argentine Navy (3-A-204)
@JakeTheDogg maybe. Why don't you also make a suggestion, with a few other models? These are the ones that I thought suit the purpose the best. Brahmos is nice, but these three are icons.
@KerlonceauxIndustries yes, Exocet is French for flying fish
@BogdanX YES
@Weaverfish that, and also ease the work for the rest of us. If I make a 1300 part ship that already lags my laptop, I don't want to spend 35x4 on torpedoes, that would also take up four activation groups. I have created both torpedoes and cruise missiles before, but I have never used them on my builds due to them requiring AGs to be operated, and me leaving the plane to guide them, during which time the plane often drifts off course.
@EternalDarkness yeah you're probably right, it's better for them to develop stuff that new players don't know how to create, that would explain why they're bringing in a torpedo even though we can already make them. They need this game to stay noob-friendly, so they can justify continuing development on it.
@Weaverfish yes, while flying a plane. These missiles are radar- or inertially-guided. Also, that would allow for only seven missiles, given that I don't use activation groups for other things
@EternalDarkness if you really want that, it's possible already...but you'd have to fly it manually.
@Weaverfish eh, being realistic? Some of us want that. A large bomber doesn't dive upon a ship, it launches a missile from 100 miles away.
What's the fun of shooting something that can't shoot back?
I'd love this. If not, putting a range attribute in the XML at least so we can build our own missiles around the existing ones. Too bad they didn't leave in the glitch that allowed scaled cockpits to have further radar ranges
@arcues not a post about those, buddy. Torpedos will be back when their bugs are fixed and a model for them made. Might be soon.
