There should be an toggle switch to turn off the crosshair when aiming with weapons like rockets. The cross gets in the way of the physical target at times and it makes it harder to aim until you're dangerously close. Just keep the little circle around the crosshair and have the cross as an option that you can toggle while in flight.

@Predatedflyer Not a bad idea. It would be like a sensor. The hud will go red when the rocket will indeed hit something when fired. The rocket isn't locking to a target, the hud is just informing you when the rocket is lined up towards the target.
Or a way the hud tells you where to lead your shots. Is that a good idea or is it really stupid
