I'm no longer using my old laptop, but it has done well. It took me to 25K points on SP, has done many school works, and much more. Good thing it didn't burst into flames or something, since the fans and heat sink have never been replaced and nearly 5 years old.
Thank you, my Acer Aspire V5-471G. You've made me proud, despite being used since 2012.
And now... I've changed. Or, my laptop actually.
This is Asus ROG Strix GL553VD. I bought this in Malaysia, after attending to my brother's graduation.
Specifications :
- Intel Core i5-7300HQ @ 2.50 GHz
- 1920x1080 display
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB
- 8 GB DDR4 RAM
- 1 TB HDD + 128 GB SSD
The RAM was originally 4GB, but upgraded to 8GB. The storage was also upgraded, originally it only comes with a 1TB HDD. Now it has an extra 128 SSD for the Windows.
It runs SP smoothly, though it might lag if I try to load a 2000-part monster or something.
I question if anyone here can help me with the first SSD. I have an Asus laptop, and I'm curious if it's possible to add a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB to it. Has anyone ever made such a brand combination? Were there any consequences over time, or did everything work perfectly? I'm afraid there will be problems storing larger documents. It happened to me on the old computer to transfer documents from HDD to SDD, and some of them were lost on transfer. That's why I had to use DATA RECOVERY settings to restore them.
why do i still lag, i have 1050ti
@TrainDude you're welcome
@Tully2001 Unfortunately my Steam account is still a limited account, so you have to invite me instead. My username is JovianPat.
@JMicah4 thanks :)
@TrainDude I bought it in Malaysia, so the price is in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). The standard GL553VD model costs MYR 3,900 (around US$910). My version has more RAM and and additional 128GB SSD, so it costs MYR 4,500 (around US$1050). I can confirm that I bought it in an official ROG store.
@Tully2001 Soon our irises will be RGB too! XD
whoa coolio!
Thanks! @Tully2001
