Buying something made by the company Ludlum Measurements Incorporated. They are the nicest people. (I know about them because I am a connoisseur of radiation detection equipment.) I own a Model 3, Model 26, Model 2403, 44-9, 44-3, and a 44-38. Link

@Fishbowl1121 by the way... the CD V-715 is from 1962, and is not a good choice, unless it is for display. The range is so high, that the radiation levels would kill you before it would get a reading. A better choice would be the CD V-700 6b made by Lionel or Victoreen. The best choice would be a new meter, with a Geiger-Mueller detector or a Scintillation detector.
At first I thought it was a site selling model airplanes. Welp, I was wrong.
