Suddenly had a new mod idea. There is an extra meter that is used to show how much electrical charge you have. Parts such as lights, rotators, hinges and maybe pistons will use electrical charge to function, so you can't just use a rotator infinitely. Also, engines will now generate electricity (since in real life they can do this).
New parts would be:
Batteries: quite small, store a decent amount of electricity and can be attached to blocks and maybe wings.
Battery pack/block: a block sized part that stores a lot of electricity, but is quite heavy.
Generator: Looks similar to car engine, same size. Generates electricity from fuel, no other use
Solar panel: thin panel that attaches to side of blocks, maybe small and 1m square variants. Slowly generates power if during daytime, also dependent on cloud cover.
Electric propeller: similar to standard blade T1000, but uses electricity instead of fuel
This would not only add an extra thing to consider when building aircraft, but also the ability to make solar planes and cars, planes using solely electricity to fly, and more. I would love to make this myself, but have no idea how to make mods. So, would anyone be able to either make this a reality, or teach me how I can do this myself?
cough cough ksp cough
This is a good idea. For making the mod, this forum (you can click the blue text) might help you out. There's definitely a chance of making this a mod, which could set the stones for the devs to use the coding and such to have it be added to the game.
Electricity batteries should use fuel tank properties so we can infinite-fuel them.
