NOTE: This bug is solved. Just had to restart steam in offline mode, delete all planes (backed up all my designs in another folder; re-added them later), start Simpleplanes, and the designer was working again.
...well...I think I broke my game. NO for REAL. Using overload I set the propeller on one of my designs (just for fun) to 100 prop blades. The game, off course didn't load, but when I restarted, I can't get back into the designer because the plane with 100 prop blades was loaded in the designer. I tried downloading a new plane, but it requires the previous one to load first, which it doesn't load because of the overloaded propeller/engine. I even tried uninstalling the game, and then reinstalling the game, but all my previous files and settings just come back. At the moment I have ZERO access to the designer. Can someone please help me with this? Is there a way to fix this? Can I delete the airplane loaded in the designer and put another one in it's place via modding the game files??? Please I'd really love to get back to playing.
@WNP78
Thanks!
@JohnnyBoythePilot if it happens again, try replacing
__editor__.xml
with a copy of__new__.xml
@WNP78
Yea thats what it was. Thx for the help!
@JohnnyBoythePilot ah, steam sync trying to be helpful. Glad you got it fixed.
@TheRealAlbinoMosasaurus

@JohnnyBoythePilot never mind, it already got answered. Thanks for the help though
@TheRealAlbinoMosasaurus
Uh sure I guess, what is it?
@JohnnyBoythePilot thx mate, can you answer my question as well?
@TheRealAlbinoMosasaurus
Go to forum, select a category such as "Announcement" or "Question", and then on the top-left of your screen, beneath the words "Forum" you will see a yellow button that says "New Post". Select that and you can began typing your question.
How do I ask a question
FINALLY! I got the designer to work again. It looks steam was regenerating the files if I tried to delete them, so I restarted steam in offline mode, deleted all my planes, started simpleplanes, and the editor/designer works again. (backed up all my previous designs before deleting). Oh thank goodness.
Wow. I tried deleting the AircraftDesigns folder and at startup it just re-generates the whole folder....
@JohnnyBoythePilot well remove the save file
The save file for the plane
In fact the game just generates a new editor.xml
@WNP78
@Alienbeef0421
Nope, that didn't work
@JohnnyBoythePilot find your SimplePlanes files (
appdata\locallow\jundroo\simpleplanes\aircraftdesigns
) and delete__editor__.xml
. This should clear the current editor design.Go to:
Windows 10 (make sure Show Hidden Files are enabled) :
C:/Windows/Users/AppData/LocalLow/Jundroo/SimplePlanes/AircraftDesigns
Windows 7:
Documents/AppData/LocalLow/Jundroo/SimplePlanes/AircraftDesigns
Delete the editor.xml file.
