So I recently opened up a survey asking people what they thought of me. It was very... enlightening. One lovely response was:
“your at 10k with the skill of a bronze user.”
Very honest, exactly what I was looking for.
I realized that that statement is pretty much true. However, I think the reason I have the rank I do is because of my personality. On that same survey, almost everyone said that when they hear the word “Awsomur”, they think of a nice, helpful guy. And that is really special to hear.
So I just want to give a big thanks to everyone who’s helped me on my SimplePlanes career. I’m glad you could find some enjoyment in my mediocre creations.
BUT!
I understand if you think my planes need more detail. So I’m happy to announce my next creation is going to have letters, windows, doors and bomb bays. Want a peek? Well...
It’s about 20% done. Expect release late this year/early next.
Awesome! @pavthepilot
@Awsomur I can't wait
Yeah it doesn't matter if you build good or not. Just have some fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
I couldn’t agree with you more. @Texasfam04
i dont think you should really worry what others think about your builds. Just build the way you want and have fun. This is for fun, ive been on for abt 3 months and ive seen people smack down other peoples builds for no reason. Not everyone has the Bogdan talent so just have fun in your own way. just my 2cents
@Awsomur The thing is that my builds are only successful when they are tacked together from the builds of other users. I have created at least 5 ships of varying looks from Feanor's parts.
@Awsomur oh ok then.
Your not that bad. You experiment a lot, so your planes are varied. @Solarisaircraft
But seriously, my “detailed planes” are like 400 parts or so. No worries. @Fjorge
If it’s that bad you should just throw in in the fjorge. @Fjorge
Please no detail... my laptop is a potato.
I'm at 3k with no skill.
Ok. I had to make some shorter because near the front of the plane there are windows. And if you have different length fuselages then the windows can be too far apart. @jamesPLANESii
Make the sections longer. @Awsomur
Ok. @Jengstrom
Thanks for the landing gear suggestions, I will try them. I’m not sure what you mean about the fuselage though. @jamesPLANESii
F15, F18, C5. And pretty much any modern fighter (F4 through F35 type) some wwii planes fit that too. Mustang, spitfire, tigercat, me262 @Awsomur
Oh and also make the fuselage out of a lot less blocks.
You need to place your wheels just behind the CoM, you should make like a wider thing for them like what's on the C-130 Hercules, the rise up to the end of the tail has got to be longer.
I hope these suggestions helped.
Interesting idea! Do you have any examples of non-circular planes? @Jengstrom
I’d try and make some replicas that don’t have a circular fuselage. That should help with variation on fictional planes. @Awsomur
Pretty much. Looking back though, he manipulated people into giving him upvotes, some thing I would never do. I'm glad he's gone; hopefully forever. @F4f879
isnt that what helilover03 did? get a high rank by his personality?
Noted. :)
@Jengstrom
Honestly, I agree with that statement. You’re a really nice guy, and you’re really active which is where I think you got most of your points. As for builds, I’d like to see more variation in plane styles. A quick glance shows me lots of swept wings, with a relatively short chord, and a tube for a fuselage. More variation would be good.
