We should be able to select which VTOL engine can power a nozzle just like how we can select the engine for a re-sizable wheel. Or be able to turn them on/off using activation groups.

Yes! This idea is very useful. Here's a story, when I'm building an aircraft, I added a VTOL nozzle with 0 thrust power to my aircraft because I need cool looking jet flame. I also need a thrust reversers using VTOL nozzle since their thrust goes to 100% in an instant, but then I'll add power to the cool jet flame VTOL nozzle if I added another VTOL nozzle and VTOL engine.
I was thinking about the same thing earlier.
Also being able to set a delay for parachutes, like 5-10 seconds after activation.
