Rotator as pivot?

1,526 rbiemer  6.8 years ago

Is there a way to get the rotator to act as a pivot? I'm wanting to be able to have, for example, the cockpit stay relatively level regardless of the pitch of the aircraft/vehicle.
Thanks!

    Just get small rotator and put the rotation as zero, same as the speed.

    Use gyro and free spin on rotators. Also, spend Research points on torque wheels.

    @rbiemer Use the gyro!

    Been working on this this afternoon, I can get the cockpit to remain sort of level but as soon as acceleration or braking, it rocks and spins... I am trying to avoid using the gyro and will need to work out dampening the rotation. Chasing a goofy objective, for sure.

    Yes, what @MrDoolittle said. That will work perfectly for what you want.

    @rbiemer Youll need to do a LOT of tweaking and testing to get it to work properly, but it should be possible.

    @MrDoolittle and @F104Deathtrap, OK that makes sense but I haven't figured out how to set rotators to free spin. I'm playing on pc.

    If you use rotators set to freespin and attach gyros, you can stabilize any (and every) axis you want! Gyros are tticky, and it might not look pretty, but you can absolutely do this.

    Gyros and free spin rotators will do the trick
