The Continuum was split into two factions during the Fringe Rebellion, the two being the Core Worlds and the Fringe. Both sides had their own fighting force, with the former having the Continuum Defense Force (CDF) at their disposal, and the latter gathering all its resources the form the Pan Liberation Fleet (PLF). Both factions are often locked in gritty battles, with neither side gaining ground unless one side backs down.
