Simple but Useful Tips-1

Hey guys what's up I'm just gonna be introducing some cool strategies&tips that might help you on building better stuff. I will be keep updating those.

1.

Do you get frustrated when working mechanical parts stick to each other?
Just do rotator connected to small piece fuselage and then edit the dimension of it, pretty much like nudging the whole assembly to the right place. I would like to call it Whole Part Nudging Method.

This is how I make the Corvette doors and trunk work, simply change the dimensions of orange parts.

2.

Have you guys been experiencing skidding/unexpected drifting while testing out cars? 90% of the cars in my car challenge have such issues, unfortunately,

What about while landing, the nose gear hits the ground almost immediately after main gears touch the ground while testing out planes?

To solve such problem, you need to get familiar with wheel tractions.

If your car skids, you need to increase the Sideway Traction of all wheels, and make sure that rear wheels have HIGHER sideway traction value than the front wheels. (But if you are intended to make cars drift, just make all traction values of the wheels the same)

If your plane gears have problem as described, you need to DECREASE the Forward Traction of the main gears.

Thanks, your tips fixed my problems. But, my car cant turn that much now. It turns a little bit even though i turned at max angle

Wait, if you’re making a drift car, shouldn’t you make the front wheels slightly more grippy than the back wheels so it’s easier to throw the rear of the car around?

@Maxwell1 they werent, well, until people invented that and thought it was pretty cool.

Before the nudging thing was added to mobile, I would use small scaled fuselages and standard resized ones to incorporate a mechanism. Like all moving elevators (forgive me if I am hugely wrong about that term). Basically, I used the small fuselages as a makeshift nudger. The problem is that I can’t delete the fuselage piece.

Wait. You’re saying cars aren’t supposed to drift?

Yea it's way more organized than my current method.

Cool! These are helpful, but I already use one. Can you keep making more?

For custom mechanical parts like an openable canopy, I usually build the canopy separate and then I grab the canopy assembly by the pistons and attach them in general to the main windshield frame. From there I just nudge the parts until they blend right in. Although sometimes the parts will latch on to other parts preventing the function, and you have to redo the process all over again. I kinda do this as well particularly with flight controls or levers in the cockpit. I attach them to the outer fuselage or even the wing (somewhere thats more open unlike a cramped cockpit full of parts) and then I just nudge them into the cockpit. Works like a charm, but for more complex assemblies like a canopy this method doesn't always work first try. I should give your method a try.

A plane that drags it’s tail on the ground while it’s taxiing. Like a DC-3 or a piper cub. @QingyuZhou

Also with tail draggers, you’re meant to reduce the wheel traction to stop doing a ground loop when you’re braking. Not many know that.

YES!!!! ONE IS SO HELPFUL!!!! THAT’S WHY ALL THE MOVING PARTS ON MY VEHICLES ARE CONNECTED IN BLOCKS WHICH MOVE THEM MILES AWAY FROM ANYTHING IT COULD ATTACH TO!!!!
