Would it be possible to make hinges that are controlled the same way the wings control the plane, as in your input changes the direction and when you let it go, it stays that way instead of just resetting to the center? Maybe through xml editing? This would be really helpful for various uses
@F104Deathtrap
That's still absolute control, rather than relative control, but I guess it's the closest I'll get
@leaderwho Right click the mouse, problem solved. It's called "mouse as joystick" and the pitch and roll inputs don't reset. No luck for touchscreen users tho, they have to use trim and VTOL sliders.
Ah well, different games are just different. You could just use the VTOL/TRIM slider though, it gets the job done @leaderwho
@CoolPeach
Turret control, and limb control are the ones I can think off the top of my head
Before coming to SimplePlanes, I used to play Besiege, which had hinges that worked this way, so I remember thinking how the way SimplePlanes does hinges seemed really impractical
I don’t think there’s anyway to do this other than via the VTOL/TRIM slider. Why would you want this anyways, it seems a bit impractical.
Sorry I cannot help more @leaderwho
Oh @leaderwho
@CRJ900Pilot
Well, I have been using these hinges to make various creations and testing them a lot.
So I can say for sure that none of these hinges work the way I want them to work
Ohh maybe try the big blocky rotator, the one in the beginning of the game. That one doesn’t reset I think @leaderwho
@CRJ900Pilot
The resetting is exactly what I'm trying to get rid of
When I, for example, pitch up, and the hinge turns up a bit, then I let it go, I want it to stay that way instead of resetting to original position
Use a hinge rotor they reset if you use roll, pitch, or yaw
