@ICANTFLY that can happen if they are set to activate on an activation group. Sometimes people set them to activation group 9 (which doesn't exist), disabling the bomb so it can't be dropped. This is often done on custom missiles which use bombs attached to them (the bombs are part of the missile and not intended to be dropped independently)
I’ll see if that works, there’s also another issue where if I download a bomb that has been modded or is supposed to be a replica, it just says “boom 50 0X” as if it isn’t there@WNP78
Attach the missile to a detacher. Set the detacher to an activation group, use that group number to fire the missile. For extra funsies, set the detacher strength up really high, but don't fire it close to the ground.

Missiles don't work if they've touched water. "sit there and create smoke" sounds like that...

You have to get a target, lock on by holding the target in the green circle until the target turns red, the fire
