Chapter 3 of the Golden Age of Flight Series:
The deHavilland DH.88 Comet
With a sleek, tapered fuselage like an ME-262 and wing loading comparable to a Spitfire, you could be forgiven for thinking this was a WWII fighter. But you'd be wrong just the same. The DH.88 was built in 1934 for an 11,500 mile race that would take it halfway around the world. Her 220mph cruising speed wasn't remarkable at the time but her maximum range of 3,000 miles is just as jaw-dropping today as it was in 1934. Chalk it all up to a incredibly sleek design and groundbreaking wood semi-monocoque construction. It was this experience with high speed design and wooden construction that formed the basis of deHavillands next big project: the legendary DH.98 Mosquito.
G-ASCP "Black Magic" was the early favorite to win, but she dropped out with engine trouble over the Middle-East
The vicotry would go to her sister ship, the scarlet G-ACSS "Grosvenor House"
This version features an interactive cockpit
Custom made split-flaps serve as airbrakes
Faithfully modeled retracting landing gear and fairings

J U I C Y S T U F F
wow
Such a beautiful plane, I wanna fly it really bad now
@CRJ900Pilot No thanks, you can most certainly use those parts tho. And help yourself to the turrets on my A-26. They work just like the B-29 turrets.
Can we colab finish it? @F104Deathtrap
@CRJ900Pilot Just the nose, lol.
Oh, same. Do you still have that b-29? @F104Deathtrap
@CRJ900Pilot Aww. I build so slow that if I don't love it then I just stop building it. That's what happened when I tried to make a B-29. Didn't love, never got past making the nose.
No not much. Just a figher but I don’t like it that much @F104Deathtrap
@CRJ900Pilot Thanks! You got anything cooking?
Very nice!
@CarsonG1017 Okie dokie!
That is absolutely beautiful! Tag me in that pls!
