I myself make rather nice planes IMO. Problem is, I see some other user get like 10 or 5 while I get none. I think that Andrew should implement something that has to do with planes not getting any attention (Minus Helicopters because they aren't planes.) Can someone help me?
I have like 170 on one i made and 2 one another. It depends what the plane is and when you post it

your plane in screenshots is too small. you should take screenshots more visible your plane.
What I did while not always gaining me more downloads per say, however this tactic gave me more points and higher ratings (before the new "upvote" system"). I found an airplane from a user and modified it to carry weapons. I made sure to do a very good job on the modification. Then I gave a large amount of credit and compliments to the original designer. I also said that I would be willing to take it down if they were not satisfied with my modification. I got lucky and the person really liked my modification, and said that they were fine with me doing other modifications.
In summary, just find a plane you like and figure out how to add your own spin on it.
