How do i decrease wing flex?

309 BootlegAircraft  6.4 years ago

I'm currently working on this trijet (and I'd like to post screenshot but i can't) and when i did a test flight, the wings flex like crazy. Other than that there arent much problem with the plane

It’s just mass production overload @BaconEggs

Take it to McDonald’s. It’ll stop flexing then.
(Seriously tho try using structural panels and XMLing it to act like a wing. If you’re on mobile upload it unlisted and tag me or another CPU user to do it for you)

Or, you can go into the XML File and change all of the existing wing-“1” to wing-“2” and you don’t have to completely redesign your wings @BaconEggs

If it's just wing parts, pull out a structural wing and open overload. Then, go to the tab called 'structuralWing' or something like that. Look around until you find 'allowControlSurfaces' or something along those lines. Then, type in 'true'next to it where it says 'false'. Then press the check mark at the bottom to finish, and then add your control surfaces. It takes a little fiddling around, but it eventually pops out.

I don’t think a noob is concerned with realistic wing flex, the problem is his wing are to bendy @BaconEggs

@Chancey21 well, I try shocks, they do nothing. We'll see which one it is, should've took a screenshot definitely.

And that method is ugly without shocks @BaconEggs

I think he’s talking about floppy wings and non floppy structural wings @BaconEggs

The issue might be that you have the wrong values in your rotators .
    For instance
    Range: 1
    Speed: 0.1

This one I only use on the outboard wing because they're too floppy, if you're having the same issue use this:
    Range: 2
    Speed: 0

This one just allows the wing to only flex in a certain range of 2*up&down.
Tell me if I'm wrong, or if it worked.

@Chancey21 have you ever done wing flex before, because you won't be of any help if you're not experienced in this field

Upload it and switch “public” to “unlisted”
Then type @Chancey21 on a comment on that unlisted post, I will be able to access it and help but it won’t be available to the public yet
