Rainier Aerospace is going to be my new company that specializes in things that go BOOM as well as space-related systems.
Rainier Aerospace is currently looking for a large 4-engine aircraft that can serve as a "mother ship" for testing orbital/space vehicles.
I've already found a couple of good 747's to do the role but I'll consider any other designs someone has to offer. We eventually plan on creating our own mother-ship aircraft but we need an interim for now.
@Texasfam04
Nope. No time frame. We don't even have any spacecraft in development yet. we're still working on our first design, a UCAV for Mikoyanster's Drone 2 Challenge.
tell you what, ill look at that 747 phantom test plane and build something new for you. is there a time frame for needing this ? @JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
That would be great.
if you prefer the gs-1 type of plane i can update it also. it was a early build of mine and could use some modifying.@JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
The Manta I guess is too large, but it could still be useful for large vehicles or it can serve as a test-article carrier, much like how Boeing had the 747 carrier their Phantom Ray drone for tests.
@Texasfam04
So, I've chosen 4 designs of yours I like. The GS-1, the Cargo King, the Manta Ray, and the VX-2 Ender. The GS-1 is probably gonna be my default choice, but I can see the VX-2 serving as a high-speed launch platform for faster vehicles and the Manta Ray serving as a mother-ship for larger vehicles. I'll see, but I like the GS-1 and the VX-2 the best for the role I'm intending for them.
is the manta too large? what abt the VX2 ? @JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
Yes we need a large aircraft that can act as a mother-ship for launching experimental space craft. Would like something with 4 engines at least.
sorry im not a big forum guy. i just saw these. is there anything i or we have done that we can modify for your needs?
hey!
Oh wow no takers? Eh I guess we'll just buy used 747's.
