Sup!
Starting in this week’s weekly, I’m going to have an interview with an influential user in each installment. I’ve also strived to extend the length of each article, to make it less of a copy/paste and more of a true editorial. Also, I’m writing these several days early so I can produce the next quality article.

1:
Rulebreaking stuff:
Thursday, several users repeatedly spammed posts entitled “Obama.” Eyewitnesses say those post contains photos, likely memes, of the former president. This would no doubt be overly political, and on top of that spamming the same posts over and over would confound that rule violation and likley result in a ban. Squirell, a moderator who’s been only semi-active in the past, awoken just to make a post addressing the issue and reprimanding all involved. There have been no further Obama forum posts, so it would seem that the correctional post has solved the problem.
2:
Personal issues galore:
A couple of users have been talking about their life problems in forum posts recently. Here’s a quick rundown of each user’s issue:
-jamesPLANESii was supposed to have a New Zealand Navy helicopter land at his school, but the school called it off because of “bad weather”, while in reality it was a clear, sunny day.
-mechWARRIOR57’s longtime pet dog Abby fell asleep this week after being out down because of a cancerous growth on her face. Mech has said that he will take a temporary hiatus from SimplePlanes to cope with the loss, and that he will hopefully return on the 7th of next month.
-bjac0 announced that his parents had separated around Christmas last year in an emotional post. I can’t really sum his issues up like he did, so I recommend you go and read his post and give him some encouragement to go on.
3:
Bye Bye Stein:
AlderSteiner is leaving the community due to a lack of interest and distraction from his real life. He says he will take more time to study for his education, and that he’ll presumably return when that is over. According to him, that’s sometime in 2021. So, see you in 3 years!
SimpleRockets:
-Bmcclory made a cool design for a reusable rocket. I hope to see him build this in SR2 once it is released.
-Bmcclory is also the first SR2 user to reach 100 points without the startup bonus.
Interview with TheDepressed Pig:
As most of you know, TheDepressedPig used to be EpicPigster1, a talented builder with platinum rank and good standing. Below, I ask him several questions about his departure and return:
.
Q: So everyone here knows your story: you deleted EpicPigster1 and came back as TheDepressedPig. What was your biggest fear coming back to the community after what you’d done?
A: Well, my biggest fear was that people would lose hope and patience on me. I mean, to be fair, I deleted my first, then my Ghost, took a 6-month break, then came back, and I was really afraid that everyone would be like: "Oh, not this ape again." Obviously, this didn't happen, but i'm sure someone thinks this way about me :)
.
Q: You’ve made some great builds over your time: which do you consider the finest and why? If possible, provide us with a link to the upload if someone still has it.
A: Oooh, this is a hard question, just like how asking what my favorite car is XD. I'll say them in terms of my eras of existence. ?EpicPigster1:?Bronze: None?Silver: TBF Avenger V1?Gold: Gimli Glider?Platinum: In terms of finished product, it's gotta be the Hellcat Minsi III, i'm insanely proud of that beaut. But in terms of actual build process, it's the P-47D-22. ?Overall: Oooh, this is tough, but I think the Gimli Glider tops everything. Sure, I needed a ton of help, and sure, it was frustrating at times, but when I finished it, I was so happy with how it turned out.
.
Q: What would you say to anyone out there considering deleting their account?
A: I would say to do whatever your heart pleases, but whatever you do, do NOT delete SP off your device. Save all of your creations, play with them. Have some fun rather than build, like making some ridiculous flying contraptions. Blow the USS Beast up with an XML gun. I guarantee you that you will get the motivation to build again. If your builds only get single digit updoots, try and try again, learn tricks and ask some of the pros, like CoolPeach, BaconAircraft, BogdanX, EternalDarkness, or any of the SP Masters members. Also remember, although upvotes can be a rough indication of how good your build is, never play this game for upvotes, play it for fun.
.
Thanks again to Pigster/Depresser for letting me interview him!

Mentionable Builds:
(all text below is hyperlinked)
T-72A, by PhantomBlade
This tank has incredible detail and realism. I particular love the historically-accurate description with great real-life information on the build.
Fokker Dr. 1, by Chancey21
No doubt Chancey’s best build yet, he did a great job on this iconic warplane of the Red Baron. He even kept the bad-looking parts of the plane, which makes it very accurate.
Serpents of Babalon, by SSSvaSSa
An amazing work of art. Despite the use of the blueprint mod, I’m still impressed with the amount of craftsmanship that went into this build.

USER SHOUTOUT:
please don’t tag this user in the comments: that’s really tacky!
Kaqiusha321
Although this user is taking time away from SimplePlanes for awhile, he’s been making great, varied builds for over a year. His newest build, the T-81 tank, is his best work yet. It has loads of detail, and the functionality to match that.
That’s all for this week’s news. Have a safe and enjoyable rest of your day/night.
-The Awsomur
Yes.
@CaesiciusPlanes
I've been quite a long time inactive as well because my mouse broke that makes it unconvenient play SP on my laptop :(

@CRJ900Pilot

@CRJ900Pilot
Ok will do, thanks for sponsoring! Would you like to be tagged on final release? @Awsomur
Yes,
@CRJ900Pilot
But if your going for a jewel do you want a diamond shape? @Awsomur
Oh ok @Awsomur
Then do shiny blue, like a stereotypical jewel.
@CRJ900Pilot
The car is shiny white, though I could put a black outline around it @Awsomur
Shiny white.
@CRJ900Pilot
What color triangle? @StallFlight @Awsomur
Hmm, nothing about the issue where lots of image hosting sites stopped working and we all had to use Discord instead. Anyways, nice article, and let's see what will happen this week..
Oh ok. Thanks @Awsomur
I can’t make logos. Just use a triangle.
@CRJ900Pilot
Sure. Gimme a logo that’s smaller than 0.5 x 0.5 @Awsomur
How about the Jewel Griffin Motor Company? It’s great because I just made it up and named it after my grandma.
@CRJ900Pilot
Remember the car you helped with? Do you have a fake company that would like to sponsor it? @Awsomur
Thanks!
@Roswell
Good reporting on the news as always. @Awsomur
