Does anybody else think that the wing flex is a little excessive is this game? I don't mean wings with rotators etc. etc. but the stock wings. If you haven't experienced this, here's a demonstration. I feel like this is is slightly overdone. Also, I think it's odd how stuctural wings have zero flex, but regular wings have so much. If anyone else has input, that would be appreciated.
Ok thx. I didn't know that. I have only been playing SP for three years so I kinda missed the early days. :) @BACconcordepilot
@DPSAircraftManufacturer Cruise altitude is 30,000 ft. You're probably safe above 25,000ft. Below that, the air is too thick.
"Structural" is not a scientific term, they only mean "it does not flex"
This generally happens once you reach a high speed.
An additional note: If you make large wing surfaces with the connection point far back on the chord of the wing, they will start to flex and wobble and eventually will rip themselves apart. I have noticed this most with control surfaces.
I know. I did this on purpose, to demonstrate the amount of wing flex built in to SP @WNP78
@DPSAircraftManufacturer Thats the right speed for it to happen at low altitude. Airliners climb to great height before accelerating to cruising speed.
You have a lot of wing segments connected to each other. Instead, replace it with one long wing and it will be a lot stronger.
thats what happens to some of my planes. if im flying at low altitudes with xml engines, i have to climb in order to avoid spontanious dismantlement@F104Deathtrap
I am pretty sure the wings don't start going crazy until you hit the sound barrier at low altitudes, a place where the plane would tear itself apart in real life. But my memory is hazy, it's been a long time since I've used unmodded wings.
