This only applies for windows users at the moment,i may add an osx verson of this soon. If your computer quits at the thought of a 5000 part count, there is probably a gazillion background processes you may not know about. if you dont belive me open up the task manager and press more details (windows 8+ only) and you will see a bunch of background processes from steam or other apps. to allow simpleplanes to have all the processing power it wants, download a plane then make sure its in your download folder and dont delete it, then restart your computer in safe mode. On windows xp to windows 7, hold down the power key for five seconds to force shut off, then turn it back on, a boot menu will pop up saying it has shutdown unexpectedly, select safe mode with arrow keys then press enter. On windows 8+ idk how to put it in safe mode. Once in safe mode, hook up to the internet (you may have to re type the password) then go into the file explorer, select downloads and run the plane file. Simpleplanes should start, simpleplanes now has all the processing power it can need, without tons of power sucking background processes (excluding essensial drivers) then your part count limit will skyrocket. If you dont know what safe mode does, it does not run any file that normally starts on boot (excluding essensial drivers) and it doesnt remeber passwords to wifi, dont worry they will be remebered when your pc is in normal mode.
Nice I like it
@CruzerBlade windows
@F104Deathtrap that is true, it took me 3 years to understand boat physics
@robloxweponco what operating system?
Dont boot in safemode that way. Boot it following theese steps: while you are on the login screen you should hold shift and while doing that right click the Power button and rightclick it and select restart. Then select troubleshoot then advanced options and then startup settings. Then click restart and click the option you want by using your number keys. This way is safe and easy
@CruzerBlade you can boot safemode with networking
@CruzerBlade really? It does with my old pc
Listen to @RailfanEthan
He is wise in all things, except stuff that isn't trains
Booting to safe mode by force shutdown is unsafe and may damage your compute. Use this tutorial to boot your compute in safe mode easily. Make sure you boot with Safe Mode with Networking to use the internet normally, Safe Mode only doesn't support networking.
@RailfanEthan but your game may still crash when the final product is built, and you can build bigger and less sub assemblies
or just make your build in subassemblies and combine them at the end
