Ive got a really bad problem! Can you help?

10 DaVolt  6.3 years ago

I went away for holiday and I brought my computer to go on once in a while for stuff. (By the way I dont have simple planes at this moment) And my brother wanted to simple planes and he had it on his steam account so I logged on to his account and he installed simple planes and together me and my brother we played simple planes. I started to like simple planes so I bought the game on the same computer and downloaded it. Then later when I logged in to my stem account and played on the simple planes on my account I had all of my brothers planes and achievements and I cant have that. So I have tried lots of things but it still doesn't work so now I am here on the official simple planes website asking how do I fix this?

Also this is what I have tried doing:
-Reinstalling simpleplanes
-Uninstalling it AND deleting the game data located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Simpleplanes then I reinstalled it still didn't do anything.

So please can you help?

Thanks in advance!

That's happened to me before. It tries to resetore your progress if you delete it and reinstall it later. If you both are using the same email, it may think you are using the same account. Try linking a different email if you haven't.

@DerekSP I deleted the simple planes data folder reinstalled simple planes and then I went into the files while it was reinstalling and I saw it loading all my brothers planes 1 by 1 from steam servers

Whenever I reinstall simple planes it just gets all planes back from steam servers again

@DerekSP no i mean in the Aircrafts folder because it contains AI models for missions and races, also the "designer" plane etch which pretty much is cache

@Minecraftpoweer If he deletes the entire SP data folder, Steam should detect it and re-download the default aircraft. If not, then an integrity check should take care of it

The achivements and the missions will be the same no matter what if you are on the same account. you can do what Derek said and also do that for subassemblys. it could possibly backfire that no plane is left and you should not wipe the entire folder as it contains pretty important stuff like the "new plane" and the AI ones and in the future if you download it on a new computuer it might not have the planes because you deleted them.

Or if your brother does not use the computer, you can just wipe the folder like you did with the game folder, and that would get rid of his planes

I see your problem; SimplePlanes stores aircraft and user data into C:/Users/(username)/AppData/LocalLow/Jundroo/SimplePlanes
And this folder is the same no matter the steam account.
A solution would be creating a new windows account for yourself and launching SP from that. Then you would get your own data folder
