Having a lot of followers is a goal for some people. No matter if these are empty followers (clicked follow and never came again) or active followers who give opinions, upvote and comment.
But for me, having 40 or more followers that don't even notice what I upload is bad. I share my builds on the site for them to enjoy. My builds are hardly noticeable because they're mostly dark, and that combined with the weird angles I make and the background makes it really sink among other builds. But jet stream should help the followers to see creations of the people they follow.
I have some active followers that download, test, comment and upvote, and that's nice.
Now that I read that it seems like I am looking for attention, but it's not a case. At least it wasn't when I started writing this.

Empty followers accumulate over time. I guess it's part of being on the site for a while.
i usually have a hard time picking the corners of those shots well
also , i suffered from lack of active followers a while ago but, i solved this with teasers ,
teasers can greatly improve the amount of feedback you get on a build, if getting a good shot when uploading the plane is hard , in the teaser you can put some really good looking images
just do it the way i do it , talk a bit about features , some nice screens and say upvote/comment to get tagged when i upload the plane , thrust me it works
So get some background mods. You're on windows.
