This stems from a short experiment I attempted, to measure the velocity of a custom inferno missile by attaching a cockpit and some instrumentation. I removed all weight and drag from everything except the missile (The missile works perfectly normally) However as soon as I turn the cockpit to the main one as to allow the instruments to actually measure the missile the targeting no longer works and it does a big nosedive into the water.
does anyone have any clue why?

Thanks, I took @GreatHenry ‘s advice and now simply use the max velocity xml mod if I need it to move at a certain speed
I played SAM invasion and and its missles I can estimate a max speed of 1400 mph, at least the last 2 waves

The missile does not consider itself properly launched when it is still connected to the main cockpit and the targeting will not work. The target max speed for the inferno missile is 450m/s = 1006.6 mph.
3131 mph is the maximum velocity I believe, I had done some testing a while back.
try shooting it straight up?
