What are the trains like where you live?

For me they are old but reliable (wich isn't like the rest of the uk) and the prices are roughly the same as the buses the livery are nice but basic overall I use them about 3 times a week
What are they like where you are

    In Indonesia (in Java island to be precise) trains are slow but cheap
    Some train lines still use the good ol' reliable GE U18C, but most are replaced by the newer GE CM20EMP

    @AircroftDesigin @F104Deathtrap you can ride from NYC to Cali for like $100 with Amtrak, it's not expensive
    Trains are in a bad time right now. All the factories and mills that started 90% of them have been shut down, leaving the only way for freight based lines to make profit is from companies like Amazon (shipping).
    If factories and industries were still present, then American trains might be better.

    Whrre I live in the US, trains are about as expensive as owning a car. People still use them for purposes of convenience, but it's a sad state of affairs.
