I've noticed something in SP that was a little irratating, There is no way to simulate military markings (RAF, USAAF roundels and all that) without making them with the objects, however this might be difficult for newer players and all that. Anyway i thought it'd be really cool if they added Decals, and maybe go the extra inch and add the ability to use custom decals like uploaded PNG files to use on the aircraft and could be placed on vehicles in a similar fashion to War Thunder's method (Drag and drop)
But what’s the fun in just slapping on a decal in 1.8 seconds?
I just want to put my profile picture on my airplanes.
It would be so easy to upload pictures and we would have the whole picture mod fiasco all over again @WNP78 @jamesPLANESii @RailfanEthan
I would not dissmiss that as impossible - men have walked on the moon. However you then have two options:
1. Preset amount of inbuilt logos: users will always want more logos to fit this and that niche, this fictional air force, this car make, etc.
2. Allow users to add their own images. This would mean aircraft files then contained images. I suppose a limit on the size could be imposed but it would be ineffectual. Turning SP builds into flying images, textured to the max is something I'm not sure is the best for the game...
I think it's impossible, as SP was built on an old version of unity
Unless if they would update SP's unity version to unity 2017 or 2018
Idk lol
@Chancey21 I disagree, tink about the part count really
Yeah...same question i did year ago, but they wouldnt agree...a user also told me that sp is using unity so it be totally impossible to do. Unless...
Concordo
I disagree. Imagine how easily it would be to make complex livery planes mobile friendly? And camo is frustrating as hell to make. This would be super helpful. @Chancey21
@Chancey21 @randomusername Problem is part count tho. For example, i'd love to add a land rover logo to my land rover, but doing so would add another ~150 parts per logo. And there's 4.
I do see one problem, and that's the whole uncertainty of who would add booby .pngs as a insignia
No, I disagree completely. If you want something as detailed as a roundel, you should have to work for it
