Less than a week ago I've assembled a new PC. It isn't really top notch, but is suits my needs above average.
My old has these specs:
CPU Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz OC to 3.19 GHz Socket 478
RAM 1.5g DDR on tightest timings DDR allows for
GPU Sapphire Radeon 9600 PRO 128 mb OC again. I don't remember but it was around 450/310 or sth
MB Asus P4P800 SE
Not mentioning a crappy 300W PSU.
The new one is from around 2010 era.
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2.3 GHz OC to 2.4 GHz Socket 775
RAM 2g DDR2 on auto timings
GPU Gainward nVidia GeForce 9600 GT 512 mb with memory clock SLIGHTLY higher
MB Asus P5LD2 SE
PSU FSP ATX-300PNF
Also this means getting Windows 7. Being on XP in 2019 is really hardcore.
I have performed little to no perfomance tests but I can tell that every game I have on my HDD that I launched there is above 60 fps. For me even 30 is playable, except it isn't CS.
CS runs at around 130-170 FPS
ETS2 goes 75-90 FPS
Avorion goes 40-50, this is the only game I can't play properly because of frequent stuttering
Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 70 FPS
In every game the vsync is off.
vsync sucks
My plans are to upgrade the CPU. 2.4 GHz isn't really enough for me even though the CPU is really effective and has 2x32k L2 and 4 mb L2.
The key is to buy x64 CPU.
Thanks, bye.
P.S. VSync sucks when you want more FPS in price of more graphics artifacts, when the new frame draws onto midway rendered previous frame, causing some motion.
