Is It Ready? [MOD TEASER #2]

6,005 Lahoski107  5.6 years ago

This time, I decided to make the runways less wide and a bit longer. Mind if I show you what I've done?

Unfortunately, I encountered a bug that I cannot fix without deleting and remaking the entire airport, You can see the runways off in the distance in the third picture. If someone could tell me how to fix this, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I cannot make a bridge connecting the airport, because unity just doesn't want to cooperate.

Please Leave Any Suggestions!

@Lahoski107 Yeah, but I mean, create a whole new terrain and just cover up the other runway

@DuckMint as said earlier, " There aren't any runways like that in the unity editor, so I have no idea where to put them in relation to the runways"

@Lahoski107 What do you mean? Just create a new terrain and put hills on it

@Lahoski107 In SP, you will have to open the dev console(`) at least once for it to start recording Debug.Log calls.

@Lahoski107 The service provider script (which you can generate by navigating to it under the simpleplanes tab), provides you with a lot of information about the game's state. For example, it allows you to obtain data about the aircraft the player is currently controlling. Once generated, you can access the players position by using this specific line of code: ServiceProvider.Instance.PlayerAircraft.MainCockpitPosition.
Then you just Debug.Log it and it shows up in the dev console.

@Lahoski107 Do you have any experience with scripting using the SP services?

@Aerofy maybe, but how to do so?

@Lahoski107 Strange, maybe there exists some unwanted data in the mod builder window scene assets? If not I guess you could write a script to log your position to the developer console with the press of a button, then use that for the cover-up island.

@Aerofy The thing is, There aren't any runways like that in the unity editor, so I have no idea where to put them in relation to the runways

For the runways in the distance, if they are stationary and you can't get rid of them, you could try covering them up with another maywar-style island

Idk add some ships like the carrier and destroyers so that you have something to do after you have taken off.

@Zoomzoom999 I can’t make a bridge because when i put it in the place I want it to be, it shows up like ten miles off the coast of Maywar, and I won’t be able to be precise

Maybe create a bridge mesh or find some of the internet @Lahoski107

@Zoomzoom999 there is no bridge prefab in the editor for some reason

It seems kind of unsettling because the third runway (the one perpendicular to the other 2 runways) is very close to the others. The planes would have a large chance of taking off and landing on planes. I would put that runway at an angle rather than perpendicular.

When you finish, TRY to add a bridge to connect maywar to the island. Before you do that, back up the mod by saving it. That way you don't lose everything if it goes wrong. See if you can use the mesh of the bridges already in the game as a base to start with.
