Ok so I have a Android 4.0.3 phone and I've realized with the latest update (1.8) the update button will not appear, I believe this is because you have removed support for that version and ones before. I am confused why because the game worked perfectly fine on 4.0.3, no bugs glitches or anything of the sort Atleast everything worked fine on the HTC evo 4g LTE (which won't let me update to Android 4.4) either way I'm just wondering if you could add back support for legacy versions of Android? It wouldn't hurt to have more people able to play your game would it? Idk I'm tired rn so if I don't make much sense sorry, all ik is theres no more support for legacy versions of Android which kinda sucks, who else agrees? Oh and I do have an Android 7.1.1 phone also but I normally use my HTC evo more.
Let's talk about legacy versions of Android @AndrewGarrison

@StancyBoi the Microsoft store I assume? And Xbox ofcourse, yes that would be a good idea but tecchhhhhnniicaaaallyy Xbox one os is a heavily modified version of Windows and with keyboard and mouse u could install simple planes and even steam on it but it would require a few loophole's, but it might be worth it since the xbox one controller is supported in simple planes
@aircoolbro21 i meant microsoft
@StancyBoi simpleplanes for windows (PC) already exists, just get it on steam
@AndrewGarrison oh okay, i suspected something of the sort, just wondering. thanks!
Hey Andrew, do you think you could make a simpleplanes platform for windows computers, and maybe even xbox?
We upgraded to Unity 2018.3 which requires a newer version of Android. I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do now to support older versions of Android.
@CrashFighter05 it probably will because it is still widely used, and yes i could transfer data plans but ive tried, the 7.1 phone has some kind of protection thingy that wont let me, but either way thats not the point. im just wondering why legacy versions of android wont be supported and if jundroo could add back legacy support, although i might be able to change the minimum sdk version to whatever number android 4.0.3 is and then just do that... but ive had minimal success with that technique.
@aircoolbro21 I hope Android 5 stays supported for at least 3 more years.... That's what my tablet runs.
@Minecraftpoweer No, you have to transfer the data plan, it won't cost a thing to transfer phones.
@aircoolbro21 You could just move the sim card tho?
@Brields95 I don't think cutting ios/legacy versions of ios is a good idea... That would be like 1/4 (give or take) of their fanbase.
@Minecraftpoweer as I said, I have the game for my phone that's running 7.1.1 but I just use my phone with 4.0 more because I have a data plan, sms, calling, and stuff like that, that just make it more useful. Oh and I am just wondering why legacyversions of android won't be supported as personallyi have found no problems with leaving them supported. Maybe its because the game requires/will require some libraries from later versions of android, heck who knows. I know simple rockets is still supported as far back as 2.2, what's wrong with doing things like that with this? Anyway sorry for ranting on about this and thanks for reading.
You should probably use the one you have with android 7.1.1 then, it's newer so it can probably handle more parts. Also you won't need to buy the game again, just log in to the same google account. To imagine how old android 4 is, android 9 pie is available on newer ones. Use the phone you have that is newer. Or buy the game on pc.
He did in fact say that they won't support legacy androids. Funny because if i were to make a cut it'd be ios.
