Whenever I try and make something it always fails, just this week I’ve made three builds that I had to throw away. I spent 4 1/2 hours making an airliner and when i mirrored it it broke. I’m trying to make a MIG-21 but I can’t get the right shape. Why it no work for me? It’s not like I don’t spend a lot of time making things it’s just I can’t.
@KyloPigPen I'm not really a replica builder. I take inspiration in the real machines and build my interpretations of them. For that, I use sources including documentaries, 3D models, photos, spec sheets, etc. The key is in doing proper research and planning the build ahead.
@EternalDarkness @Gestour do you have any tips for making replicas cause you both make epic planes
Plan ahead. Leave room for parts that are to come later. Also, watch the proportion. Common mistake is to overfocus on details and end up with ridiculously large wingspan or a tiny vertical stabilizer.
i have the same problem
It takes 10000 hours of practice to master anything.
@exosuit thanks I will do next time
@KyloPigPen oh you mean duped parts
.
it means that you had another parts attached to the part you're trying to mirror
.
you can solve by not overlapping the parts (like attaching a detail part on another detail part, then nudging it away) or mirror by the part which has alot of parts attached to it
@exosuit trust me I know it was centred it just flipped out
@KyloPigPen that means the part isn't attached properly/ cockpit isn't centered (0 on X axis)
@randomusername yep
@exosuit the parts duped inside each other they didn’t go in the right place they where on the wrong pieces
@randomusername stupid autocorrect, I was trying to say wdym
@randomusername Weymouth?
@KyloPigPen that is weird
.
broken in what way?
@exosuit Ik that’s what I did
don't mirror the whole thing, but use the part mirror button
.
that way it's way less buggier
@JamesBoA I try my best
Then make a MOC, if replica builds doesnt work out
